The Western Arc connects all roads and all rail lines radiating out of Dublin to Belfast, Sligo, Mayo, Galway, Limerick, Cork and Kerry. It links with Europort Rosslare and Waterford via Limerick.
- It connects 5 International Airports: Belfast, Derry, Knock, Shannon, Cork.
- 6 Major Sea Ports: Belfast, Derry, Galway, Killybegs, Foynes, Cork.
- The Western Arc generates a high percentage of Ireland’s growing rail freight, most notably from County Mayo.
- It also connects the gas, electrical and communication network of Ireland.
- Many of Ireland’s “missing links” are to be found along its Western Arc
